Cemetery Commission approves prior minutes, denies second headstone request.

Cemetery Commission · Meeting of April 10, 2026

Salisbury Cemetery Commission approves prior meeting minutes and rejects second headstone request. Chairman Gordon Frost reported that the Commission denied a request for two headstones on a single lot at Long Hill Cemetery, citing a prior vote limiting headstones to one per lot. The Commission approved surveying vacant expansion land with ground penetrating radar to detect unmarked burials before new grave sites are marked.

Town Manager Neil Harrington presented a potential land acquisition for cemetery expansion after being contacted by a real estate agent, with the Commission agreeing to arrange a site visit pending multi-step legal approval. DPW Director Jamie Tuccolo reported ongoing tree removals and road maintenance at Long Hill to prepare western grounds for future burials.
