Salisbury Historical Commission elects new secretary, approves window restoration contract. Chair Connie Hellwig, Vice Chair Thomas Tatro, and new Secretary Rachel Phillips unanimously approved contracting Window Woman of Amesbury for a full restoration of six historic windows at an estimated cost not to exceed $28,000, including repair or replacement of 12 sashes and pulley ropes and an educational diorama of the pulley system. A Newburyport Monuments plaque honoring Civil War figures George M.
Carr and George W. Carr is expected to be installed by month's end. The commission will discuss plans for America's 250th Anniversary, a potential Historical Commission website, and revisions to a National Register of Historic Places application at its February 17 meeting.
