Planning Board continues lot-line review, opens public hearing on Elm Street retail project

SALISBURY — Planning Board defers two major applications and opens hearing on mixed-use Elm Street development. Chairperson Warren Worth, Vice Chairperson John Schillizzi, Clerk Daniel Welch, and member Deborah Rider unanimously continued an Approval Not Required lot-line review for 81 Forest Road and opened a public hearing on Coastal Elm Development's proposal to demolish the Divided House of Gifts and construct two buildings--an office and a retail space with bank tenant--on 145 Elm Street. Project architect Greg Smith and representatives presented renderings featuring an underground stormwater system and front-parking layout; Planning Assistant Isabella Sollazzo flagged traffic-flow and screening concerns, while board members requested additional landscaping and a traffic study.
Both matters continue May 27. The Board also unanimously appointed Sollazzo as MVPC Commissioner and approved prior meeting minutes.
