Selectmen approve MIT reef project, split on sewer fee restoration

Salisbury Board of Selectmen approved routine licenses and MIT reef project support. Chairman Donna Abdulla and the Board unanimously authorized Town Manager Neil J. Harrington to sign an MOU with MIT and the Department of Conservation and Resources supporting a pilot offshore reef structure to reduce beach damage, with no town financial commitment required.
The Board approved four Common Victualler renewals, two seasonal liquor licenses, and a new Repair license for We Care Auto Body Inc. In a split decision, the Board unanimously approved amendments to the first three chapters of comprehensive Sewer Rules and Regulations but tabled a vote to restore the Sewer Access Fee to $3,080 per equivalent residential unit--where it stood before a 2023 reduction to $500--pending discussion of long-term infrastructure costs including pump station replacements averaging $500,000 per station.
