Salisbury Warrant Advisory Committee reorganized with Stephen Roth unanimously elected Chair and Tom Treat Vice-Chair. Finance Director Karen Snow reported that FY2026 local receipts are running $465,000 ahead of the prior year, with motor vehicle excise taxes outperforming by $130,000 and marijuana, hotel, meals, parking, and building revenues all performing well. The committee heard preliminary FY2027 budget projections showing an $850,000 initial imbalance driven by expected increases in health insurance and pension costs.
Town Manager Neil Harrington characterized the town's fiscal challenge as fundamentally a revenue problem, noting that without growth-driven property tax gains, maintaining balanced budgets and service levels will prove difficult.
